Pharmacy Pet Peeves September 2018

SEPTEMBER 18, 2018
YOU KNOW THE PILL
When patients pour a small pile of different pills onto the drop-off counter, point to one, and tell us, “I’d like this one refilled.”

CLOGGING UP THE LINE
Patients who fill their shopping cart with all sorts of junk food but don’t want to pay a small copay for their cholesterol medication.

OUTDATED SAVINGS IN A MANNER OF SPEAKING
When patients get angry at us for not accepting a coupon that is months past its expiration date.

PET PEEVE FRIDAY
I just wish that patients would be more polite when speaking to me or my colleagues; “please” and “thank you” can go a long way during a long day working at a pharmacy.

Bossy patients, abandoned prescriptions, drive-thru demands? We want to know! Send your pet peeves to [email protected] We’ll share them here and online.
